This policy explains how AI Translator handles information when you visit aitranslator.page or use its web translator. It applies to the website and web translator only. The Chrome extension has a separate privacy policy.

Information We Handle

Website translations

The web translator begins translating after you pause typing. When a translation succeeds, we keep the text you selected, typed, or pasted, your language choices, the generated translation, and basic record details needed to operate the website service.

The Chrome extension has a separate translation flow. Its translation text does not enter this website-record store.

Do not submit passwords, authentication information, payment-card information, private documents, or other information whose disclosure could seriously harm you or someone else.

Site settings and analytics

We use basic service information, such as when a translation is requested and whether it succeeds, to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse. The website stores a random client identifier and your selected target language in local storage. You can remove them by clearing site data in your browser.

We use Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica to understand aggregate visits, performance, approximate location, device type, traffic sources, and page use. Their Google Analytics Privacy Policy and Yandex Privacy Policy explain how they handle information. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers. Translation input and generated results are excluded from analytics and session replay.

We use information to provide translations, remember preferences, prevent abuse, maintain the service, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell user data or use it for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

To provide a translation, we send the text and language choices to the AI Translator service, which uses OpenRouter and an eligible AI provider to create the result. We require providers not to use translation content for data collection or retain it after the translation. If no suitable provider is available, the translation is unavailable.

Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica receive website analytics data, not your translation text or generated result. We may share information where required by law or when necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, malware, or a security threat. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live.

Retention and Access

Successful website translation records are retained for up to 14 days and then automatically deleted. Backup copies used to recover these records follow the same 14-day maximum. Generated translation results may be kept for up to 30 days to make repeated requests faster. Service-security records are also kept for up to 30 days.

Website translation records are excluded from ordinary analytics and are not available through a general administrator dashboard. Only the sole allowlisted administrator may read unexpired website records through a separate restricted page. There is no routine human reading of translation text. Access is limited to operating this website service, investigating a security issue, complying with law, or handling a user request involving specific content.

Security and Your Choices

We use safeguards designed to protect stored records and limit access to them. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

You can avoid submitting text, clear local storage and cookies in your browser, or contact us about privacy rights that may apply to you. Some information may need to be retained where required for security or law.
