This Privacy Policy explains how AI Translator ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit aitranslator.page or use the web translator.

This policy applies only to the website and web translator. It does not govern the AI Translator Chrome extension, which has a separate privacy policy.

When you request a translation, we process the text you submit, the selected source and target languages, and limited context needed to produce the result. This information is sent through the AI Translator API to configured AI service providers that generate the translation.

Do not submit passwords, financial information, private documents, highly sensitive personal data, or another person's information unless you are authorized to process it.

Technical and usage data

Our systems process technical information needed to operate and protect the service. This can include the requested path, request time, response status, latency, browser and device information, referring origin, character counts, and hashed versions of the IP address and random client identifier.

Operational request logs do not contain the raw text submitted for translation. Generated translation responses can be cached as described under Retention and may contain words or excerpts derived from the submitted text.

Local storage

The website stores a randomly generated client identifier in your browser. It is used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We also store your preferred target language so the translator can remember that choice. These values do not contain the text you translate. You can remove them by clearing site data in your browser.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica to understand visits, page usage, device types, approximate location, traffic sources, and service performance. These services may set cookies or use similar browser identifiers according to their own privacy policies.

Yandex Metrica Session Replay may record page interactions. The translator's text-entry field is marked so its contents are masked and are not readable in Session Replay recordings. We do not intentionally send submitted or translated text as an analytics event.

You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics scripts or cookies may reduce measurement but should not prevent the core translator from working.

How We Use Information

We process information to:

provide translations and related explanations;
remember basic translator preferences;
enforce usage limits and prevent abuse;
cache results and improve response speed;
diagnose errors and maintain service security and reliability;
understand aggregate website usage; and
comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell translation text or use it for personalized advertising.

Service Providers and International Processing

We use service providers for AI processing, analytics, hosting, infrastructure, and security. Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy commitments.

Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica process website analytics data. Configured AI providers process translation requests to generate results. Hosting and infrastructure providers process technical data needed to deliver and protect the service.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.

Retention

Generated translation responses and related metadata can be stored in a cache. Cache entries have a validity period of up to 30 days. The cache key is derived from the request using a cryptographic hash rather than storing the submitted text as the key.

Technical logs and analytics data are retained only as needed for operations, security, measurement, and legal obligations. Third-party retention periods are controlled by the relevant service providers and their policies.

Your Choices and Requests

You can:

avoid submitting information you do not want processed;
clear the website's local storage and cookies in your browser;
block analytics scripts or use browser privacy controls; and
contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, or other rights that may apply in your location.

We may need enough information to understand and verify a request. Some data may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.
